I just bought a Samsung 860 Evo m.2 I tried to plug it in but then as soon as I turned my pc on it just doesn't show ( I looked at the disk management).
I really need help with this asap cause I'm planning to turn it into a boot drive and I've seen similar problems that I'm experiencing and most of what I read wasn't solved.

@DiESMiLLiNG , welcome to the Community.
The M.2 socket on your motherboard is key M. This normally can be used with SATA, NVMe or both. However, I am not certain which option HP has used. Here is a guide to explain the sockets and keys: https://www.atpinc.com/blog/what-is-m.2-M-B-BM-key-socket-3
Also, here is a HP Knowledge Base article that will explain the best way to transition for a HDD/SSD to a SSD: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Knowledge-Base/Upgrading-Desktop-or-Laptop-to-a-SSD/ta-p/73048...
I suggest cloning your current M.2 to the new M.2 using Samsung's Data Migration software.
Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.
