HP G4 600 ?
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I currently use an HP z440 workstation running Win-10-Pro

But its not offically supported in Win-11

The main reason I chose the HP z440 as my home computer is because it has a PCI slot.

I need the PCI slot for my sound card.

I want to know are their and HP towers that Support Win-11 and have a PCI slot ?

I would prefer a Xeon computer or i7

@alexanderhernan,

The HP Z440 Workstation was/is one of my legacy upgrade projects and has been running Windows 11 Pro (24H2 version) very successfully for over a year.

Meaning, if you like your PC -as you probably do, there are a number of reliable and effective methods developed which would allow you to almost effortlessly upgrade your PC to Windows 11 in non-supported hardware, such as this easy-to-follow YouTube instructional video shows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSrmhhigEhY&t=332s&ab_channel=Tips2Fix.

In the off-chance you don't like W11, you have 10 days to roll back to Windows 10. After 10 days, unless you follow the steps outlined in this instructional video, you may need to do a fresh install of Windows 10. Either way, this video will show you what to do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v9_-4JCh_U&ab_channel=Tips2Fix.

@alexanderhernan,

Btw, none of HP’s officially Windows 11-supported workstations (such as the Z2 G4, Z4 G4, or Z6 G4 and newer) include legacy PCI slots, because Intel removed native PCI support from chipsets starting with the 100-series (Skylake, 6th-gen), and TPM 2.0 became a requirement for Windows 11 starting with Intel 8th-gen (Coffee Lake).

So which HP computers have a PCI slot and Offically support Win-11 ?

Anyway to upgrade the TPM on the HP z440 ?

I tried to do it using the HP TPM upgrade tool but was unsuccessful.

Yes, I have Win-11 running on my HP z440 but I want to upgrade the TPM

@alexanderhernan,

As I already mentioned, no, there are no HP desktop or workstation computers that both:

  1. Have a legacy PCI slot (not PCIe), and

  2. Officially support Windows 11 (per Microsoft’s minimum system requirements)

  3. Even if you succeeded in upgrading your HP Z440 Workstation to TPM 2.0, it still wouldn't make it W11 compliant.
