HP Z2 Mini G4 Performance
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All,

I have a Z2 Mini G4 with the Intel i7 8700 running at 65W.  According to the official support documentation this can be upgraded with a variety of processors, including the Intel i9 9900 (also 65W): https://support.hp.com/ie-en/document/c06095844#AbT2

Has anyone tried this?  Does anyone know if the existing heatsink and fan are sufficient for the upgrade?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Almeister

Hi,

The 9900 is on the processor support list at your link.

The factory heat sink and fan should be okay.

Run Prime95 for about 20 minutes using HWiNFO portable to check core temps.

Or run IXTU for about 20 minutes.

Regards
