Just bought 3 of the Z2 Workstation G9's with the Intel i7-13700 and can't believe how bad the CPU cooler is that's comes with them? The CPU base power is 65W and has a max turbo power of 219W but they have given you a 125W (Specified in the HP maintenance and service guide) cooler? If you run Cinebench R23.2 the CPU clocks down in literally 3 seconds!
On the Z2 Workstation G9 website it says the following:
"With the Z2 Tower Workstation you can render, simulate, and even real-time ray trace without overheating or slow downs. And when demands change, you have impressive expandability to upgrade"
And this:
"Our advanced thermal technology will keep the processor and graphic cards consistently cool and quiet, so they can run at max performance for extended periods of time."
Have they actually tested these PC's? How can you give a 125W rated cooler with a CPU that can run at 219W and say that the CPU will be able to run at max performance for extended periods of time?
Wow...

Welcome to our HP community forum!
Look, it wouldn't be productive to reflect in this forum why your HP Z2 G9 Tower Workstation Desktop PC is fitted with a 125-watt cooler whilst fitted with an i7-13700 processor, which sports a whopping 219-watt "maximum turbo power" rating.
Rather, what you definitely need is something like the heatsink I purchased to cool my i9-9900KS (TDP: 127-watt, though peak power draw approaches a toasty 155 watt overclocked in an Asus PRIME Z390-P gaming platform), as purchasable and affordably via Amazon-United Kingdom: Thermalright PS120SE CPU Air Cooler, 7 Heat pipes CPU Cooler,Dual 120mm TL-C12B V2 PWM Fan, AGHP 4.0...:
This heatsink has performed most satisfactorily as hoped for, and it includes a mount kit (bracket, standoffs and backplate) suitable for your LGA 1700 processor. This 7-pipe heatsink is rated to cool processors up to 280-watt.
Hope this was helpful.

Hi NonSequitur777,
Sorry I'm new to these forums, which forum would be best to point out HP are selling PC's with false advertisement please?
I want money back from HP to buy a new cooler that's going to do the job properly thanks so won't be forking out any money myself for a better cooler.
I'm not sure how they're allowed to get away with this?
Any actual HP representatives here?

I understand your frustration. But just to have you avoid unwelcome elevated blood pressure &/or hypertension -even though your cause is just in my opinion, there is slim to none chance that HP is going to reimburse you to purchase a better heatsink cooler.
I do not represent HP, btw, I just volunteer here to assist community members find solutions to their issues.
Kind Regards,
