Hello
I am working to add hardware features to the Z230.
Currently there is a need to add two additional hard drives in the empty space at the top above the DVD Drive.
I need Sata ports to connect two additional hard drive those Sata drives to be used for file storage.
I found this card in a Google quest. I need to know if this is a good option this particular card a PCI-e 3.0 x1 Non Raid.
IO CREST 4 Port SATA III PCI-e 3.0 x1 Expansion Card Non-Raid with Low Profile Bracket ASMedia 1064 SI-PEX40156
The url is:
www.amazon.com/IO-CREST-Expansion-Non-Raid-SI-PEX40156/dp/B08J2PK1HF?th=1
Thanks for any advise on this possibly task!

the card you selected will be fine,....... also the chip used on this card AS1064 has built-in win 10 driver support
since the z230 only has pci-e 2.0 slots (the only 3.0 slot is the single x16 slot)
just keep in mind that pci-e 3.0 x1 has a data limit of just under 1GB and pci-e 2.0 is about 500MB/s so if you attempt to xfer data between the two drives connected to this card, the speeds might be slower than sata III 6GBps speeds of 600MB/s which is not a issue for mech drives as they can't reach these speeds, but a current mid range SSD can do 600MB/s and on this card they might be throttled/limited in speeds if xfering data between the cards two sata ports, nothing major, just something you need to be aware of if benchmarking the system
