HP Recommended

My HP Z3700 wireless mouse that came with my laptop just stopped working after a couple of days. The laptop is detecting the  mouse and shows that it is working properly, the battery is new, the mouse is lit, I re-installed and updated all drivers, made sure all system updates are current and tested mouse on another node and it registered but didn't work. When I did that, the curser didn't move when I used the touchpad either.  HP Support doesn't help as the S/N doesn't register on their site It seems i need to just buy another mouse. Anyone get a fix yet?
