You can use the following options for CPU's
Processor
The Z420 supports a single Intel Xeon E5-1600v1 and E5-1600v2 series processor. The Hyper-Threading support allows two threads to run simultaneously on each core -- Windows recognizes 24 total cores on this unit, 12 real and 12 virtual. It also supports "Turbo Boost" which automatically boosts the processor speed based on workload - so if an application is only using one of the 24 cores it will automatically increase the speed of the core in use and turn off the unused cores.
First Generation
up to 3.8GHz Max Turbo, 10MB Cache
up to 3.8GHz Max Turbo, 12MB Cache
up to 3.8GHz Max Turbo, 20MB Cache
Second Generation
up to 3.9GHz Max Turbo, 10MB Cache
up to 3.9GHz Max Turbo, 12MB Cache
up to 3.9GHz Max Turbo, 25MB Cache
up to 3.3GHz Max Turbo, 25MB Cache
up to 3.6GHz Max Turbo, 25MB Cache
up to 3.5GHz Max Turbo, 30MB Cache
