Dual Port Thunderbolt 3 PCIe AIC add-on card, for HP Z8 workstation. The need is to obtain Thunderbolt3 High-Speed Data Rate from an external RAID for high-end video editing. The HP Dual Port Thunderbolt 3 PCIe AIC card comes with two, very short DisplayPort Cables, and the brief installation States:
IMPORTANT: For optimal Thunderbolt 3 performance, install a PCI Express graphics card.
Is this Needed for the data of up to 40Gbps that Thunderbolt3 should perform at? Or is this a reference to using a Thunderbolt3 for a display? Is an Add-on and needed to make the card work correctly? If the Graphics Card is also added, and connected to the HP Thunderbolt3 Dual Port PCIe AIC card, it seems that the display should also be then be attached via the Thunderbolt3 and I would guess that this would degrade the data-rate from the RAID, since it is Also no supporting the Graphics (1-4K display, 1-HD display) AND 24 Frame RAW Data for editing...
All I need is High-Speed Data (We really need the roughly 40Gbps that Thunderbolt3 should be able to obtain), but the instructions are so minimal and not performance is specified, I need some additional guidance. Thank you,

@Rodagon -- IMPORTANT: For optimal Thunderbolt 3 performance, install a PCI Express graphics card.
A PCI Express socket on a motherboard is faster than other sockets (PCIe, PCI, AGP,) on the motherboard.
So, for fastest updates of a display, find a graphics card that uses PCI Express as its interface.

Sorry, Your answer has little to do with the question...
The question is regarding, DATA read/write rate from a RAID, for high-speed image-data transfer through Thunderbolt3 connection...
Thanks for trying....

I tried to supply information about graphics card. Sorry if my response to what you posted was not what you wanted.

Have you found an answer to this? I am having issues getting my system to even boot after I install this card. It just hangs on a black screen. So not sure if that has to do with the DP connection as I am not using that. I have a separate graphics card for my displays.
