HP d530 CMT (power supply question)

Hello,  

this is an old pc but it's used as a central unit for an EEG system. (bought it second hand without any software so we have to keep this one running)

It stopped working and I think the power supply is dead so I want to change it.

My question is, can I change it with any brand or do I have to replace it with exact the same type ? (compaq PDP123p)

the D530 tower and SFF models are very old systems made around the time when HP/compaq merged and is actually a Compac design

no you can not replace the tower model 220 watt power supply with a current ATX unit as the Physical size of the D530 unit is larger than current ATX units, while you could make a adapter plate it's easer to buy a used unit

or buy a new 350 watt unit that comes with the nessary adapter plate
