My keyboard and mouse is not being recognized by the OS randomly and I don't know what to do. I tried the HP Support but my serial number is not working.

Hi @adil15,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP keyboard and mouse drivers are not being recognized by your computer, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Check Physical Connections:
- Ensure that both the keyboard and mouse are properly connected to the computer. For wired devices, this means checking that the USB or PS/2 connectors are securely plugged in. For wireless devices, make sure the batteries are not depleted, and the USB receiver (if applicable) is plugged in correctly.
Restart Your Computer:
- Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve driver recognition issues. Restart your computer and see if the devices are recognized upon reboot.
Update or Reinstall Drivers:
- Outdated or corrupt drivers can cause recognition issues. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your keyboard and mouse. You can search for drivers using your specific HP model number.
Check Device Manager (Windows):
- In Windows, you can check Device Manager to see if there are any issues with your keyboard and mouse drivers.
- Press Win + X and select "Device Manager."
- Look for the keyboard and mouse under the "Keyboards" and "Mice and other pointing devices" sections. If there are any yellow triangles or error messages, right-click on the device and select "Update driver" or "Uninstall device," then restart your computer and let Windows reinstall the drivers.
Try Different USB Ports:
- If you're using USB devices, try connecting them to different USB ports. Sometimes, a specific USB port might be causing the issue.
Test on Another Computer:
- If possible, test the keyboard and mouse on another computer to see if they work properly. This can help determine if the issue is with the devices themselves or your computer.
Check for Hardware Issues:
- Inspect your keyboard and mouse for any physical damage or loose connections. If you find any, you may need to replace the devices.
Use a System Restore Point (Windows):
- If the issue started after a recent software update or system change, you can try using a System Restore point to revert your computer to a previous state when the devices were working correctly.
Check for Malware or Software Conflicts:
- Run a malware scan to ensure that your computer is not infected. Sometimes, malware can interfere with device recognition. Additionally, software conflicts can cause driver issues, so consider uninstalling any recently installed software that may be causing problems.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
