HP p2-1334
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello again,

I recenty inherited an HP p2-1334 that I was looking to fix up.

I already replaced the old drive with a new SSD and wanted to upgrade the memory to its limit, so I performed a search for the type of motherboard it has, which is a Pegatron APXD1-DM .

According to this page on HP.com: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03727139, the board supports up to 32GB on a 64-bit system (what I have), so I purchased (2) 16GB memory sticks. Unfortunately, the memory doesn't work!

I found out through this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03515750 that this HP model only supports up to 8GB total on 64-bit machines. Very disappointing!

Is there a way to make these two 16GB sticks work on this machine given that the motherboard supports it? Please tell me there's a workaround.

Thanks,

Dan

Greetings,

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Your PC's specs at these two HP Support sites (Link1), (Link2) list a APXD1-DM (Redwood A). Redwood A does not support 16 GB memory modules.

Your link references a APXD1-DM (Redwood 2) motherboard.

Check Crucial Memory (Link) for compatible memory upgrades.

Appreciate the response...so this manufacturer (Pegatron) has two different motherboard types listed under the same model number? Ah great.

Anyway, I'll check out the link, thanks again!
