I was getting an error when I switch on my laptop, about my fan not operating correctly. I removed the cover and cleaned away the dust etc. All good!

However, I’ve knocked out a cable and I can’t find where it’s supposed to go.

The laptop is turning on, but it can’t find any wifi?

The fan is now working 😂

That is because the cable connector goes to the wifi card. It is for the antenna.

That is why you aren't seeing any wifi SSID connections.

Carefully plug it back in. That is an extremely delicate connection. It is very easy to break..

I would have provided you with a video on where and how but you did not identify your PC at all.

When you do not identify your desktop or laptop PC, you tie our hands behind our backs. Help us to help you.

When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key once.
That will open the Windows run dialogue

Type in msinfo32 and press enter.

The ninth line is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.

The System SKU/Product ID will enable us to determine the hardware configuration of your notebook.
