Greetings

I need some help

I have an HP HP prodesk 600 G2 with a fault power supply.  A regular one fits but beside the regular 24 to 6 pin there is another 6 pin called P2.  The pc works i tested it with another psu that has the 6 pin without the p2 however it doesn't really turn off the powersupply fans keep spinning after a shutdown.

I cannot find it anywhere all the ones sold are for the hp prodesk 600 G1.

this one has 6 pins and 5 cables.  I attached a picture of the p2 connector for the hp 600 G2.

thanks

@Jay139,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Your post didn't make it clear if you got the SFF or the MT model -please clarify.

Either way, the SFF and MT models require a proprietary HP power supply which you can purchase via eBay Sellers -or you can use a compatible 24-pin ATX power supply adapter such as this Amazon purchase option.

Various Amazon customers have stated that this ATX power supply adapter worked for their 600 G2 platforms, quote:

"For anyone wondering this works on a HP Prodesk 600 G2 MicroTower. I needed to change to power supply to be able to run a bigger video card for Blue Iris NVR camera object recognition."

"Works great for Prodesk 600 G2 MT can confirm! Plug and play."

"Works on my HP Prodesk G2 SFF with an i5 6500."

If you got the MicroTower model, an industry standard 24-pin ATX power supply will fit inside your case.

Thanks for the answer it is the microtower MT version of the HP 600 G2.

Do you have an aliexpress version that is compatible?

This is an overpiced and frequently returned item there are some good reviews and many say it doesn't work and burns up.

I am outside the US and they don't send these type of times to my country.  Using a package forwarder will at minimum double the costs.

@Jay139,

Yea, reason for my Amazon link is because your country identifier says United States.

Anyway, no problem: I have used AliExpress a lot, especially if you don't mind the longer shipping times.  Here is an AliExpress link for a compatible ATX power supply adapter: ADT-Link HP 24 to 6 Cable Supports HP 600 800G2 SFF 6th Generation Host ATX Power Adapter Cable HP 6....

Whatever you do, make sure it specifies (HP) 600 G2 and you should be fine.  I have used these and similar ATX power supply adapters a lot, and to be honest, not one of them caused any thermal issues whatsoever.  I suppose some people are just ... unlucky.

Thanks

I am in the Carribean and the prices do get quite high when using amazon. By the way the link shows a cable for the SFF I have the Microtower MT model.

Almost all cables on aliexpress mention G1 compatibility but not G2 however the cables look very similar to each other. Is there a chance the G1 will work ? The pins be switched .

@Jay139,

Yes, the AliExpress link I referenced does say: "Adapter Cable HP 600G2 800G2 SFF", but the "SFF" specification is irrelevant: according to the manufacturer/Seller, this power supply adapter cable is compatible with the 600 G2 platform.
