Dont know if this is specific to HP or windows, will likely cross post.
I need to reinstall windows from a usb on my laptop. I have a USB with windows on it, but whenever I try to use it, it never works. I have done it from the automatic repair loop menu's "use a usb" option, and my boot up in BIOS is set to usb first (it's the non-legacy option).
I'm not sure why it's not working and would welcome any and all help.
Regarding the USB, I have tried both the windows usb version and then the "for burning on a disc" and it doesnt seem to work. I dont know if the issue is with the usb or the computer

Hi:
There is no need to change the boot order in the BIOS.
If you know the USB flash drive you created will boot on another PC, see if this works...
Have the USB flash drive in the PC.
Turn it on, and immediately tap the ESC key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to get the menu of options.
Select the F9 boot options menu, from that select the USB flash drive, and press the Enter key.
The PC should boot from the USB flash drive.
