Need help with dissassembly to remove the front/top USB ports for replacement.  The HP manual doesn't cover how to remove the multi-USB ports on the top/front of the machine (by the "Bang & Olufsen" logo.

I've long suspected these USB ports to be a problem.  And while I've considered ordering a replacement, I can't for the life of me figure out how I'd remove it if i had to.

Anyone with any advice, drawings, etc. would be most helpful.  Somethings got to replace what I have in there, as two USB ports are now marginal performance at best.  It doesn't have to be exact, but I've got to try to address this issue.

Your help, apprecaited.

@CHIJB555,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

As you probably already know, you need (used) HP replacement part number: 809381-001 USB Audio Card Reader Board ("Top I/O - 2USB3.0, 2USB2.0, Audio, 7-in-1 CR") as can be inexpensively purchased via eBay, for example: hp 809381-001: Search Result | eBay

Looking at the part itself, the various notches and trimmings show hints how it fits and can thus be removed from your desktop.  The connection cables are easy enough.  Unfortunately, I couldn't find any instructional videos how to actually remove/install this part, but it appears to me fairly straightforward: remove the front bezel, remove any screws (if any) that holds the USB/Audio board in place, and snap/slide the part out.  Reverse with replacement part.

Hope this was helpful.
