Hi @subhamoysaha778,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP 230 keyboard might be experiencing a key mapping issue where pressing one key results in an unintended character being typed. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this problem.

Check for Physical Issues

  • Clean the Keyboard: Dust or debris under the keys can cause malfunction. Carefully clean the keyboard with compressed air.
  • Inspect the Keys: Make sure the keys are not stuck or damaged.

Update or Reinstall Drivers

Update Keyboard Driver:

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Keyboards.
  3. Right-click on your keyboard device and select Update driver.
  4. Follow the prompts to search for and install any available updates.

Reinstall Keyboard Driver:

  1. In Device Manager, right-click on the keyboard device and select Uninstall device.
  2. Restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the keyboard driver.

Change Keyboard Layout Settings

  • Check Language and Keyboard Settings:
    1. Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language.
    2. Make sure the correct language and keyboard layout are selected.
    3. If not, add the correct language and set it as the default.

Test the Keyboard on Another Device

  • Connect the keyboard to another computer or device to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the keyboard itself or the original computer.

Check for Software Conflicts

  • Boot into Safe Mode:
    1. Restart your computer.
    2. Press F8 (or Shift + F8) before Windows starts to enter Safe Mode.
    3. Test the keyboard in Safe Mode. If it works correctly, a software conflict might be causing the issue.

Perform a System Restore

  • If the issue started recently, you can perform a system restore to revert your computer to a previous state where the keyboard was working correctly:
    1. Go to Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore.
    2. Follow the prompts to restore your system to a previous point.

Use On-Screen Keyboard for Testing

  • Open the on-screen keyboard to see if the issue replicates there:
    1. Press Windows + R, type osk, and press Enter.
    2. Use the on-screen keyboard to test key presses.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, the keyboard might have a hardware fault.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
