Unfortunately, other users have apparently encountered this problem with the same motherboard.
Several SSDs tested, and only some seem to work
Take the risk of yet another try, indeed maybe not the best
Sometimes it seems that it doesn't work anymore after a bios update
This problem exists with other motherboard models, but apart from SSD replacement, I don't seem to have read any other possibilities.
Crucial, in fact, generally gives the right models, but maybe depending on the bios precisely, it does not work!
HP should be warned of this problem

@Willis62 -- can you disconnect the data/power cords from the CD/DVD device, and connect both cables to the SSD? Since the SSD has almost no weight, and no moving parts, it can just "rest" anywhere that those cables can reach.

 

Then, see if you can still launch Windows, and then use "Device Manager" to see if Windows has recognized the SSD?
