Hard Drive cradle

HP Recommended
Pavilion p6310uk
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a need to add another hard drive into my Pavillion p6310uk, but all available locations are taken. Is there a 3-bay internal cradle available to replace the 2-bay cradle that is standard fitting in this model (bottom of case). Photo below of the current cradle fitted (old photo, much larger drives now fitted)

Alternatively, who makes the case (if not HP) and how can I contact them.

Thanks in advance for any help given.

Adrian.

@ADowling,

Your HP p6310uk is circa 2010, and only has 4 SATA 300 data headers.  A detailed specifications series model, the HP p6305sc  is shown here.  As a WIN 7 origin machine, you do not have access to UEFI.  Any storage device is limited to 2TB and formatting must be MBR. See this explanation on BIOS with MBR and GPT with UEFI.

There is no HP upgrade HD tray.  But there is a solution. What hard drives are presently in the unit?  What age?

Thanks for your reply Wb2001, but I have just found a 'work-around'.

I now have 2x 2Tb, 1x 3Tb & 1x 4Tb installed & working on my PC, running the two larger drives through a SATA controller card.

The problem with lack of fitting for the additional drive was resolved by removing the 'Pocket Media Drive' tray (which wasn't being used) and fitting the extra drive into that slot.

Many thanks for your information though, it's much appreciated.

Best regards,

Adrian
