Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting a 309 error on the Pc, which indicates it's a Smart Drive error related to the hard drive. request you to please run a hardware test on the PC and let me know the result.
Hard Drive test:
1) Shut down the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Press F2 once.
4) Go to Component test.
5) From the list, run the Hard Drive (extensive) test.
