Hello to all. I hope everyone is happy and very healthy.
I am in the process of upgrading the hardware on my PC. I ordered more memory and a new Display. Should be here next week.
Now the difficult upgrades. I want to upgrade my GPU and I need help. I cannot seem to figure out what GPU's are compatible with my PC. Recommendations are very necessary. Here are some of the key specs:
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 745
GPU Slot: (1) PCI Express x16 (Gen3.0)
Processor - Intel i7 6700
Mother Board: Thimphu (Pegatron)
RAM: Currently 12gb, DDR4 2133 (this will be between 16 and 28gb when I get the new modules)
Chassis: I assume is a standard ATX ( I can get dimensions if needed)
Power Supply: 500 Watt.
Now, if someone can help me find the right GPU and if necessary a new Power Supply that fits my chassis, I would be eternally grateful. I'm not looking to break my bank account but I do want to improve my PC.
I've been searching for a while now and I keep coming up short on certainty that the upgrades will work. If any more specs are needed just let me know.
Del.

Hello
I'll make it as simple as possible, you can search for other models in the list.
If this is the model you have, it seems to be the case with your indications
HP ENVY Phoenix 860-014 Desktop PC Product Specifications
you have exactly the same motherboard here, with the same power supply, and so this:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980Ti
other :

Memory upgrade, you can try with the scan of this site:
- Amount: 12 GB
- Speed: PC4-17000 MB/s
- Type: DDR4-2133
- Dual channel memory architecture
- Four DDR4 DIMM (288-pin) sockets
- Supports PC4-17000 (DDR4-2133)
- Supports 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB, and 16 GB DDR4 DIMMs
- Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems
note:
32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory. - Supports up to 64 GB (unbuffered) on 64-bit computers
note:
Maximum memory shown reflects the capability of the hardware and can be limited further in the operating system.

Hi Promethee. Thank you for replying. This sounds like a MUCH better GPU. And not needing to upgrade my power supply is great. I will be looking to find the GeForce GTX 980Ti at the best price I can find. I really appreciate your time and effort. I will try to remember to come back and let you know how it works out.
Thanks again,
Del.
