We tried following the directions to plug in the new monitor to the new computer, but nothing is appearing on the monitor and we are getting an error message. We tried getting customer service, but they will not accept the serial number, so we can’t get through to anyone and we don’t know what to do. Ideas?

Hi @ash467

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your new monitor. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to get it working:

Check the Connections: Ensure that all cables (power and video) are securely connected to both the monitor and the computer. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause display issues.

Verify the Input Source: Make sure the monitor is set to the correct input source (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.). You can usually change this using the monitor's on-screen display (OSD) menu.

Inspect the Cables and Ports: Look for any visible damage to the cables or ports. If possible, try using a different cable or port to see if that resolves the issue.

Restart Your Devices: Turn off both the monitor and the computer. Disconnect all cables, wait for a few minutes, and then reconnect everything before turning them back on.

Update Drivers: Ensure that your graphics card drivers are up to date.

Test with Another Device: If possible, connect the monitor to another computer or device to see if it works. This can help determine if the issue is with the monitor or the computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
