hello.. my pc is a hp pavilion p62170a..

i72600..(not 2600k)..8gb ram....2tb hd....motherboard-IPISB-CU-Carmel2(2012)

300w psu....and a struggling gt530 graphics card....  i need to upgrade my graphics card but am unsure of my pc's limits...will a gtx 1070ti be compatible??? maybe 1050ti not sure if a 6gb card will work...please help find the best compatible card....i have also just upgraded to 16gb ram and 500w psu..

Hi:

 

The best series card you can upgrade to is one of the GT 6xx models, because your PC only has a BIOS revision 7.xx.

 

The newest BIOS update for your PC is 7.16.

 

In order to run a Nvidia GT 7xx or newer model, your PC must have a BIOS revision 8.xx or newer.

thanks for the reply mate...so would u recommend like a gtx680 with overclocking...

im trying to get as much life outa this pc..cos its still in good nick, surprisingly it can play kingdome come deliverence or jurassic world evolution on high settings still...but anything made after is rough....untill i can afford a new hp omen obelisk...lol

I don't know much about specific cards' capabilities.

 

I only know that the BIOS limits your choices to legacy cards only.

 

If you want to go with that model, it should work.

hi.. im back and need your help again..

i bought a used gainward gtx670 phantom... got it working and was going well for a couple of days.i downloaded msi afterburner and it was runnig fine... 

then i played jurassic world evolutions and after 10 mins of playing , pc shut down , card was hot as hell...from then on my pc wont boot at all with that card installed...

pc will run fine with integrated graphics or my old gpu...

what steps can i take to get the gtx 670 to boot?  ive uninstalled msi afterburner and deleted settings...

uninstall intergrated graphics maybe?
