Hi everyone. I wanted to upgrade my current PC to be able to run games like Valorant in 1080p. I've decided on getting the Gigabyte GT 1030 Low Profile 2GB GDDR5. My question is, will my PC be able to run this card? Can I simply install this by inserting it in the motherboard and call it a day? For reference, I have an HP p6-2314d with an i5 3470, gt 620, and 8GB ram. Upon checking the specs, my motherboard is the Foxconn Joshua H61 u-ATX with bios version AMI 8.15 (05/02/2013). The power supply is 300W.

For specifics, this is what I found for my pc specs. It's exactly the same except the RAM.

@Pamallama

You have to have BIOS 8.* or above to be able to install GT 1030 card. Please use following link

          https://support.hp.com/ph-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-p6-Desktop-PC-series/5295969/model/5328...

From the following information

         https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/gt-1030/specifications/

300W PSU should be just fine.

Thanks for the reply. My bios version is AMI 8.15, 05/02/2013. I'm not sure whether that fits your description of having a BIOS 8.* or above. Lastly, I don't see any BIOS update for windows 10 in the link you provided above. Could you guide me?

Machine is old therefore no available updates/upgrades for Windows 10. You have to use BIOS on the link

@Banhien thanks again. But is my current bios version not suitable? You said I needed BIOS version 8.* and above, I have Bios version AMI 8.15. Is that good enough?

HP Recommended

I believe he means that it must be 8 and above, which yours is. Install the graphics card and download the drivers to see.
