Hi @idk567,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for reaching out! We’re glad to hear you’re looking to upgrade your HP M01-F3224 desktop. Upgrading your system can give you a solid performance boost, but there are a few important things to keep in mind, especially when changing your CPU, GPU, and motherboard.
HP Disclaimer on Upgrades:
Please note: HP does not support or guarantee performance or functionality for third-party upgrades, including aftermarket motherboards, GPUs, or power supplies. Upgrading components may void your HP warranty, and HP’s proprietary components and BIOS may not be compatible with industry-standard parts. Proceed with care and ensure compatibility with your case, power, and thermal limits.
1. Motherboard & CPU
Since you're replacing the motherboard and CPU, you're essentially rebuilding the core of the system. When doing this:
- Make sure your new motherboard supports Windows 11, your desired CPU, and your RAM (DDR4 or DDR5).
- Changing the motherboard will void HP’s warranty and custom BIOS settings, so proceed with caution.
2. GPU (Graphics Card)
- Upgrading your GPU is great for gaming, creative work, or visual performance.
- Most modern GPUs require a dedicated power connector (6-pin, 8-pin, or both), which your current PSU likely doesn’t support.
3. Power Supply Unit (PSU)
Yes, upgrading your motherboard and GPU will require a new PSU that can handle the increased power demands.
✅ Recommended PSU Specs:
- Wattage: At least 500W–750W, depending on your GPU/CPU.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
