Product: HP Omni 27-1057c Desktop PC
Found a little compartment in the back of desktop that contains an HP thumb drive connected to the desktop with serial # and model #?????????? Never new it was there. Can anyone shed some light on this and help me understand why would this even be there and what is it for? Thanks!!!!!

You mean a USB device?
That could be a USB stick, or a Wi-Fi dongle, or a Keyboard/Mouse Dongle?
Like item 6 in the picture?
- Optical disk drive
- Game console input (only on models with an HDMI input)
- Stand
- VESA cover area
- Kensington lock slot
- USB wireless keyboard and mouse dongle cover
- Back I/O panel (specific I/Os are model dependent)
- Side I/O panel
