I have a HP 64 gig x796w USB 3.1 flash drive that has failed before I got to use it. I took it out of its packaging, plugged it into my Windows 10 desktop and was running the ATTO benchmark on it to see how well it performed. (Many USB 3.x flash drives have very poor sustained write performance.)

Windows 10 decided it was time to have one of its extremely rare bluescreens. When it rebooted the HP flash drive was write protected and nothing I've tried has been able to change that.

I bought it March 27, 2024 and it arrived in my mailbox April 4, 2027.

I've found on HP's website that in the USA they have a 1 year warranty on flash drives. I want them to replace this one.
