First, let me state that I am very pleased with my HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF desktop. While certainly not the latest and greatest HP available, it has more than served my personal computer needs.
However, there is one minor quibble I continue to experience, and that is its tendency to have the female end of the power cord disconnect and power off whenever I move the tower. I have searched the available HP Maintenance, Service and Troubleshooting as well as the Desktop Hardware Reference Guide, but found no reference to replacing what might be a loose or defective female jack at the base of the computer. What was even more confusing was that in two of those documents I found an illustration of a typical EliteDesk 800 G1 power cord which included a power brick and a round end of the power supply cord to the power supply connector on the rear of the computer. My desktop didn't come with either of those.
I then searched for a replacement 10A/250V, C13 power cord but am hesitant to purchase one as I feel that it too may exhibit the same loss of power due to a perceived loose connection at the computer.
Based on the description of the issue, what would you recommend as the best viable solution for this?

Is this the type you need???
If it is go to any small electronic store or Mom and Pop computer store and buy one for a couple $$$.
If you lived near our warehouse you could come down and have a few for free!!!

This sure does look like the one that came with the computer. The problem I seem to be having is that the ones I've been looking at have specs that don't appear to match up to HPs requirements: 10A, 250V. I'm seeing plenty with the identical amperage, but with 125V. Since it's electricity and current I'm reluctant to get one unless it meets the same spec as HP.
Funny thing is that my Dad's occupation was an electrician, but not one strand of that DNA passed to me!
I'm also guessing that there isn't a replacement 3-prong female jack I could buy and hopefully replace in my EliteDesk 800 G.
Thanks, RE051ST.
