Hi @Lordakp,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I can give you some general advice on upgrading your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000a.
Graphics Card:
-
Size Constraints: The first thing you need to check is the physical space available in the chassis. Measure the space for the graphics card, considering both length and width. Smaller form factor cards might be necessary for pre-built systems with limited space.
-
Power Supply (PSU): Check your power supply's wattage and make sure it can handle the power requirements of the new graphics card. If necessary, you may need to upgrade your PSU. Ensure that the power connectors on the PSU match those required by the new graphics card.
Power Supply (PSU):
-
Wattage: The stock power supply might be enough for some upgrades, but if you're installing a more powerful graphics card or other components, you might need a higher wattage PSU. Look for a reliable brand and a power supply with at least Bronze efficiency rating.
-
Form Factor: Ensure that the new PSU will fit into the case. Pre-built systems sometimes have smaller form factor PSUs.
Cooling:
-
Cooler Size: If you're looking to upgrade the cooling system, consider the space available in the case. Some cases might have restrictions on the height of the CPU cooler. Ensure that the new cooler will fit within the confines of your case.
-
Airflow: Improved case airflow can also be beneficial for overall system cooling. If your case has limited airflow, consider adding case fans or upgrading the existing ones.
Recommendations:
-
Graphics Card: Look for GPUs that are known for their compact size, often labeled as "mini" or "low-profile." Some popular options include NVIDIA GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT.
-
Power Supply: Consider reputable brands like EVGA, Corsair, or Seasonic for power supplies. Aim for a wattage that comfortably covers your system's needs with some headroom for future upgrades.
-
Cooler: Brands like Cooler Master, Noctua, and be quiet! offer various CPU coolers. Make sure the cooler's height is compatible with your case.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
