How do I remove the hard drive from a desktop?

I have a very old desktop computer (HP Pavillion p6 series) that I want to get rid of. It can't be restarted, recovered, or anything.

I want to get rid of it, but I'm concerned about anyone else finding it and finding personal information in my files.

I was told that the best way to make sure that doesn't happen is to remove the hard drive from the computer. How do I do that?
