OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-1350st
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just got my Omen 30l and it's amazing! When I was setting up my pc though, I couldn't seem to find the settings to change the memory controller gear. Online tests (like this one ) showed pretty significant frames per second improvement in non-4k resolutions by switching to gear 1 from gear 2 (which my omen defaults to as shown by the CPU-Z screenshot below). Is there any way to switch the gear level?

From the article you cited, it seems that "Gear 1" works best for all-but-the-fastest RAM, but when you have "really-fast" RAM, it is necessary to switch to "Gear 2" because the memory-controller cannot keep up with that "really-fast" RAM. So, "Gear 2" slows-down the memory-controller, to make it work properly.

Do you have "really-fast" RAM, that forces the use of "Gear 2" ?

As the article suggests, using slightly-slower RAM allows the memory-controller to use "Gear 1" -- running the memory-controller at a faster rate, resulting in more FPS.

I'm using the turbo RAM speeds from omen gaming hub (which are 3466), but CPU-Z shows that the memory controller is running in 1:2 mode (what intel calls gear 2). Do you know if there's a way to get it onto gear one (1:1 mem controller timings)?
