Solved: How many SSD's can I add? - HP Support Community

The HP OMEN 25L that I recently bought came with 1 SSD (1TB). I would like to add/install another SSD, but I can't find the info that says how many drive slots the desktop has/how many drives I can add.

In the manual I saw instructions on how to add another SSD. However, looking at the images I didn't know what I was looking at. What are the objects that are shown in the top right, bottom left and bottom right images? Is the bottom left the holder where you can place multiple drives?

Anyways my main question is; how many SSD's can you fit into the HP OMEN 25L Desktop GT12-0475nd?

hi

original, you only have an M2 SSD
You must have at least one HDD slot
the motherboard has at least two sata ports
You should be able to install at least a classic sata SSD, admittedly slower, but if you need another ssd it can be useful

Okay so if I have understood you correctly I have these options now:

I can add:

- 1 HDD

- 1 SSD (most likely an older generation)

I would like to have at least 500GB extra storage and I prefer a faster drive in case I need to run heavy programs (e.g. games/video editing software) so I guess that means that I should buy and install an extra SSD? Or is an HDD maybe a better option in your opinion? And if an SSD is the better option what SSD do you recommend? Because I really don't know what kind of SSD is supported. Is this sata SSD from Samsung supported/installable for example?

Also, I had a look at the Motherboard Viewer PDF you linked: OMEN 25L/30L Desktop PC Series (Intel and AMD) - Motherboard Viewer

I'm still unsure where I have to install the sata SSD.

On page 26 the PDF shows that there's a primary and secondary HDD SATA connector. Do I have to install it somewhere over there?

Sorry for asking so many question. As you can probably tell I'm new to this.

Yes, you can add sata SSD
normally can of compatibility problem
for the model for you to see according to your budget, see, compare the performance / price
You will certainly need a 3.5 / 2.5 adapter and the data cable sata, check if there is the power supply, normally yes, but you never know
Yes, you need to connect the ssd to an available sata port
indeed, in this document it is not shown
