The hard drive on my HP ENVY Recline 23-k019 TouchSmart (All-in-One Desktop PC) has failed. I got a new Hard Drive (ST1000LM024). Now I am trying to find a "recovery media" for my machine and need to know how I can use it? I assume I can use a USB with Recovery media ? . But my bigger problem is I'm unable to find recovery media on HP website and it clearly says it is not available. On Google I was able to find a 3rd part selling this media :
My question is, if I purchase this recovery media USB, is it a sinple process to recover the system simply by selecting the USB as boot option?
or I should better go to a computer tech shop to have this recovery done?
i would greatly appreciate if any fellow forum member send me any suggestion or a guideline link for this recovery process.
Thank you
Ash

Hi:
The free way to get W10 reinstalled, would be to use the Media Creation tool to make your own plain W10 installation media. You will be given an option to make a W10 bootable flash drive installation media.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Boot the PC from the installation media you create (you will need to provide a 4 GB USB flash drive for the project).
When you get to the part of the installation script where you are asked to enter a product key, you select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are reconnected to the internet.
Then download the drivers and available software from your PC's support page. You should be able to use the W8.1 drivers for the devices that W10 doesn't install.
