Hello, I have the ENVY 700-414 with all it's standard components. I need a thunderbolt port for a peice of hardware that I'm getting. My question is: is there any way to install a thunderbolt expansion card to the current motherboard(Memphis-B)? If not, can I upgrade my motherboard with one that has compatibility with thunderbolt connection?

If you do not have a graphic card ( you said standard) then your in luck. It's PCIEx4 card.

unless your motherboard HAS A THUNDERBOLT HEADER, neither card listed will work
besides the TBolt card you need to run a cable from the TBolt cards 10 pin header to a header on the motherboard and i don't think the Memphis -B motherboard has the required 5 pin TBolt header
read the install directions, and note the section on the AIC cable
