Hi @Blttrt
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
To help you set up the DisplayPort (DP) connection properly and confirm whether your PC supports multiple monitors through both HDMI and DisplayPort, I’ll need to check a few important details first.
Please share the following information:
Exact model number of your PC or desktop tower
(e.g., HP EliteDesk 800 G6, Pavilion x360, etc. — you can find this on a label on the back, bottom, or under "Settings > System > About")
Is the DisplayPort on a graphics card or on the motherboard (integrated)?
If it’s on a vertical slot near other ports (HDMI, USB), it’s likely integrated.
If it's lower down on a horizontal slot, it’s likely from a dedicated graphics card (which may require drivers or specific settings).
Are you using a DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable, or an adapter (e.g., DP to HDMI)?
Have you tried switching the monitor input source to DisplayPort manually?
Some monitors don’t automatically detect a new input.
What happens when you connect the monitor to the DisplayPort?
No signal detected?
Flickering screen?
Black screen?
Monitor not detected in display settings?
Once I have this info, I’ll help you:
Confirm if your system supports dual display via HDMI and DisplayPort
Check if the DisplayPort needs activation or driver updates
Guide you through connecting both monitors correctly
Let me know the answers, and we’ll get it working step by step.
We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!
Regards,
Hawks_Eye
