Yes.
Actually, according to the specs, it only needs a 300 W P/S.
Looking at that monster, I assumed it needed a PCIe power plug and at least a 500W power supply!
Clearly if it works in the dc7800 then it doesn't need any supplementary power.

Indeed.
I have now installed the new cpu and here is the differnce in performance.
The single core performance has slightly went down but an extrea 2 cores shown a good boost in multi tasking but gaming performance has gone down 1 or 2 frames due to low single core speed. No doubt the graphic card is the bottle neck of this system now.
