HP 23.8" 24w HDMI/VGA 1080p Widescreen LED IPS LCD Monitor (Black)

I just bought a dual screen mount for my two HP monitors.

One of them is the HP 23.8" 24w HDMI/VGA 1080p Widescreen LED IPS LCD Monitor (Black). I currently have the stand on it - but I accidentally broke the tiny switch/button in it that removes it. So now I can't figure out how to get the stand off.

It's locked in and should slide off when unlocked - but can't unlock it. Any help/advice would be appreciated!

@monitorstand6 , welcome to the forum.

Here is the User Guide for the monitor.  In the section titled "Getting started", Page 7, it shows how to remove the stand.  It is unclear how you will remove it without the release.  It may be that you will simply have to dismantle the stand to remove it.  It most likely can't be fixed.  You could ask a Tech at a local computer shop if they have suggestions.
