Hi ,I am trying ro remove the disk cage from the elitedesk 800 g3 sff. I have found instructions for the g2 and the g4  versions of the elitedesk  800 but they are different.

  • Can some tell me how to fully remove the disk cage in the elitedesk  800 g3 sff?

Thanks

You're very welcome.

Perhaps not since there is no procedure to remove it in any video I could find or the service manual.

Take a look at the two drive cage pivot points and see if the posts which allow the cage to be pivoted are riveted to the chassis or not.

If the cage is removable, the pivots should be able to be unscrewed or removed in some fashion other than drilling them out.

Thanks for the reply.  These videos show the disk cage being lifted up but not removed. I am wondering  if can be actually  removed.

Hi , I looks like it is riveted.  Please attached picture.

 Thanks for your help.

Yes, looking at your screenshot the cage is riveted to the chassis which explains why there is no removal and replacement video or steps in the service manual to remove it.
