Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi guys!

I installed in my HP Z420 WS a total of 256 GB of RAM LRDIMMS (8x32 GB) 1866 MHz.

But at the Task Manager the speed it shows is only 1600 MHz.

Any advice on how to set it to 1866 MHz?   (I have tried at the BIOS but don't find yet how to do it, I don't see any option, and already searched for solutions in the web, but no luck yet).

Thanks and regards from Puebla, Mexico.

Alex

Interesting video. I did have to search for it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FH2JnIsLlaw

The video does not say that the  256 GB of RAM LRDIMMS  will give you the module's 1866 MHz.

I took a look at the E5 2690 Xeon processor specs and I note that your installed processor only supports up to 1600 MHz

You could ask Cloud Ninjas on their website more specific questions.

That is an impressive amount of installed memory.

There are no options in the BIOS to set any primary or secondary timings or  DIMM voltage. That is by design.

The memory clock speed will only be what the BIOS, chipset and processor allow it to be.

Per the specifications,  the memory speed support is 1066-MHz, 1333-MHz, and 1600-MHz DDR3.

Your installed 1866 Mhz memory is downclocked to 1600 Mhz. and that is not  something you can change.

Hello Erico:

Thanks for your comment, I was afraid to that possibility.

Anyway, if you have the chance, please take a look at this video (@ minute 3:00) where the presenter (Cloud Ninjas Channel) shows that it i possible with my processor, motherboard and type of RAM.

So, maybe that information is wrong.

Regards!
