Hi there.

Recently I have noticed that motherboard (PCH) temperature reaches 60-65c during gaming, or copying large amount of data to NAS (heavy network usage).

Are these PCH temperatures normal?

I've noticed that PCH isn't even cooled, so I added little pasive cooller on it, and the temperature came down some 7-8 degrees C. On my elitedesk g1 the PCH temp is ~25c, but the g3 is much hotter.

I would appreciate if someone with the elitedesk g3 could write their own measurements, so I get idea if my motherboard is normal or not, and should I have any reasons for concern.

I used Speecy to read temperatures.

@Tomash_SRB,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

Yea, I think I can offer a meaningful contribution to your question, as I have extensive experience with the HP EliteDesk G3/G4/G5 SFF platforms, and have taken these upgrade projects as far as I could take them -including off the HP Reservation:

In any regards, yes, I did notice/can confirm that the PCH temps were elevated, but never had an issue with it.  If you were to browse through my upgrade links, you'll see that I placed a very high priority in improving the internal airflow through the SFF case in order to bring down temps, especially processor wise.

Thanx for Your reply.

What temp your system reports for the PCH/mobo?

@Tomash_SRB,

Similar temps, sometimes a little bit higher, but less than 75° C.

Mine are 55-65, so I can assume it's all ok.

Thanks a lot man, it's a relief!
