Hello,
I'm trying to find a driver or way of using this dvd drive I had from a previous HP computer I used to have. I have held on to it for many years in the hopes to use it again. I found a way to use a conversion kit for it to change to sata. So, now I have it in my latest PC but Windows 10 will not recognize a driver for it nor can I find a driver on HP's driver list for it probably because it is a bit old. Is there any place to find old driver's for old hardware? Would greatly appreciate any help, thank you.

The Hp DVD840 is a IDE drive. It could be used with a USB to IDE adapter, it you like. Something along this line.
That can also be used to power the drive.
So the only thing might be the adapter you have. Please indicate the "conversion kit" make and model, so as to sort this out.
I'm not an HP employee.
