I got a new HP Pavilion Desktop. I wanted to change the SSD with another one that I was using on my previous desktop. I have disassembled the screw and it dropped on to the motherboard and I ve seen spark for less than a half second. The computer was absolutely closed. After that accident when I press the switch the computer doesn't start. It is like it is not getting any power. But when I insert the power cable I can observe some lights on the RTX3060. I also got power on ethernet lights in the back.
My question is that,
Isn't the screw painting nonconductive?
Do I have any chance with the guarantee?
It might be that the power unit has some issues or the motherboard is dead.
Thanks for any information.
Kind regards,
Posum

Hi:
This is a peer-to-peer forum. We don't work for or represent HP.
Any HP desktop PC service manual I have ever come across tells you to unplug the PC before working inside of it, such as this one, so I doubt you will be covered by the warranty.

ACHTUNG
Öffnen Sie nie die PC-Abdeckung, wenn das Netzkabel angeschlossen oder der Computer eingeschaltet ist.
Sie könnten Ihren Computer beschädigen oder von den sich drehenden Lüfterblättern verletzt werden.
I recommend that you contact HP support for assistance.
I hope that whatever the problem is that it doesn't cost you a lot of money to fix it.
