Hello, 

 

I want to upgrade my HP Z240 with a new GPU, a Radeon 5700 XT. 

Is this possible? as I have heard conflicting stories.

HP Recommended

The 5700XT requires an 8 pin and a 6 pin power connector and it also requires a minimum of a 600W PSU. I believe the Z240's largest PSU was 400W which is far below the minimum required for the 5700XT.
