HP Recommended

  I have a bare bones HP elite desk 705 g4. I was wondering if the ryzen 5 1400 would work with it, I know it's not explicitly listed but all the 2nd gen CPUs seem to work with this PC. Any insight is welcome, thanks.

You didn't mention what form factor PC you have, but below is the link to the 705 G4 model series' Quickspecs which has the list of supported processors by form factor on page 9.

 

HP EliteDesk 705 G4 Desktop Business PC

 

It does not list any 1st Gen Ryzen processors as supported.

 

There are no related posts on the forum where anyone has installed a 1st Gen Ryzen processor in the model series.

 

If you have a 705 G4 SFF or MT and you want to install W11 on the PC, you will need to install one of the first 3 processors listed as well as a graphics card because those processors do not work with the onboard Radeon graphics.
