Hi I have a question about the pcie slots on the hp elitedesk 800 g4. I have a gpu installed in the top slot amd radeon 520 and it only uses 8 lanes of the 16 in the top slot, I’m wondering if the left over lanes can be utilized by the bottom 16 lane pcie slot that’s been downgraded to only 4 lanes for a pcie nvme adapter card

@Unyxxxx,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Yes, the (white) "X4PCIEXP" motherboard slot would be perfect to install a PCIe adapter card for an M.2 NVMe SSD.

You'll get very decent I/O speeds based on my experience with this platform.

Kind Regards,

How many nvme’s would be supported through the hire pcie 1 or more than one

@Unyxxxx,

In my HP EliteDesk 800 G4 SFF upgrade project I installed two M.2 NVMe SSDs, one SATA SSD, and one HDD: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/56433387.
