Hi
i just purchased a second hand 800 G4 Mini Elitedesk. Tried to fit an Nvme M.2 with 2TB (Western Digital Blue 3D NAND). The SSD is not found in Bios (Bios is upgraded to latest version) - hence I cannot boot/install anything on the SSD (GPT).
A smaller 256 GB Samsung Nvme works fine.
What can I do to get the Western Digital working?
Thx and BR

Hi:
From the description of the drive you posted, it is a M.2 SATA SSD, not NVMe and M.2 SATA SSD's are not supported in the model series:
If you want a WD Blue drive, you need this one:

Thank you so much - you are right (the SSD is from a Gen 3 HP Laptop which supported only SATA M.2)…
Last one: Can I upgrade to any Nvme size (eg also to 4TB) or are there linitations for the G4 800 series?
Many thanks again!

You're very welcome.
You should be able to go to a 4 TB drive:
The Crucial memory/SSD report indicates that they sell NVMe SSD's up to 4 TB for the model series.
HP HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Mini PC | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com
Note that the PC's M.2 slot is PCIe Gen 3.0.
While a Gen 4.0 SSD should work fine, it will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds from the Gen 3.0 slot.
I have the 800 G3 DM35W i5-6500T running W11 Pro 24H2 and I installed a Samsung 980 1 TB NVMe SSD.
Works fine.
My only regret is I didn't get the 65W model.
It would have been a bit more powerful, but I am still very impressed with the performance of the one I have.
