Hp omen 16.1 not detecting M.2 SATA SSD.

I have a Hp omen 16 laptop and i was trying to upgrade the storage by adding a M.2 Sata SSD in the 2nd empty slot along side my M.2 NVME SSD.

But no matter what i do the laptop doesn't detect it as being installed at all. I thought it was defective but i put it in my 2nd laptop and it worked perfectly. Is the Hp Omen 16 not compatible with M.2 Sata SSd's?

The model series only supports NVMe SSD's which is why the M.2 SATA SSD doesn't show up.
