Hi

I have hp pavilion g6 1236se core i3 2330m (sandy bridge) 

Can i upgrade it to i5 3230m ( ivy Bridge)

Unfortunately, that would not be possible.

Your notebook only supports the Intel 2nd gen core processors (Sandy Bridge).

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the list of supported processors...

If you are going to upgrade, you may as well go for the max to get the most out of the upgrade.

Because I have i5 3230m from a broken HP Probook 450 g0

In Syria, we do not have this availability for hardware parts or a delivery service because customs are very expensive

Unfortunately, the i5-3230M is not compatible with your notebook.

This link provides some of the compatibility info I have been looking into: https://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Core_i3_Mobile/i3-2330M_%28PGA%29.html and as you can see, no i5-3230M compatibility is listed.

Also, could not find any real-world User submitted HP Pavilion G6 1236se examples fitted with an i5-3230M.
