Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
Please check the product number. I can't find your product.
HP uses three motherboard variants in this PC:
ColtC (Link)
ColtP (Link)
Colti (Link)
HP does not list the maximum memory for two of the system boards. The Colti MB supports up to 8 Gb SODIMMs per memory socket. The C and P MB's may also support 8 GB modules but this info is not provided at the above HP Support sites.

Hi,
I don't know if your MB is limited to 2 GB modules per memory slot or if you can go to two 8 GB modules because I don't know what MB you have. I am hoping you have the Colti MB.
Again, HP is not listing the maximum memory capacity for two of the three MBs used in this product. This is an additional unanswerable question.

Mabey it's a 230
Is there a way to confirm it on the PC?

Hi,
You're very welcome.
There should be a HP Support sticker on the chassis with the product name and product number.
HP Support Assistant should also ID the PC product number.
Type "msinfo" using Search or use Cortana to check the product number.
