Hi @Peacelovepawpri,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I'm sorry to hear that your HP Slate 21 All-in-One PC isn't powering on, especially since you've already verified that the cord has power. Let's go through some possible solutions to get it working again:
- Have you experienced any recent power surges or electrical issues that might have affected the system?
- When you try pressing the power button, do you hear any sounds like fans spinning or any lights flickering briefly?
- Have you tried using a different power cord or adapter to see if the issue might be with the current one?
Let's try these steps.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the PC and the wall outlet.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Plug the power cord back in and try turning the system on again.
Check the Power Button Connection:
- If you're comfortable opening the unit, check if the power button is properly connected to the motherboard. Sometimes, loose or disconnected power cables can cause this issue.
Inspect the Power Supply:
- Even though you've tested the cord, it’s still worth double-checking the internal power supply of the unit. A faulty internal power supply can prevent the PC from turning on, even when the external power cord seems to have power.
Test with External Monitor:
- Connect an external monitor to the HP Slate 21 (if you have one available) to see if the screen might be malfunctioning, though this doesn’t explain the lack of power button illumination. It can help rule out a display issue.
Look for Faulty Components:
- If the above steps don't work, the issue could lie with the motherboard or another critical internal component. If the system still doesn’t power on, it might require service or repair.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
