Hello, I am looking at changing my HDD to a SSD because I heard it's better performance. I noticed that there are different types of SATA. What is my machine compatible with?

The motherboard is ms-7613. The link is the motherboards specs.

Hi:

Your only option would be to replace the 3.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD.

SSD's are all SATA 3 nowadays but are backward compatible with your PC's SATA 2 controller.

I have SATA 3 SSD's running in a couple of my old HP desktop PCs with SATA 2 controllers and they work fine and provide much better performance than the mechanical hard drives did.

You will also need to purchase a 3.5" to 2.5" drive adapter to properly mount the 2.5" drive where the 3.5"drive is mounted now.

Equally as important as performance of the HHD (SSD) is transferring files to the new drive. How will you transfer files in the event that the enclosure is different as in not the same between the 2 different drives¿¿??
